I was reading this fascinating book. About a bunch of the world’s top performers, athletes, etc. who weren’t doing so well.
So they called in this consultant guy to help them get over it.
This guy did some in-depth analysis. And found that all top performers have certain unconscious habits that they do.
When they stop doing these unconscious habits, they start losing like crazy.
Put those habits back in, and they start the winning life again.
Interestingly, I found that the top YouTubers in the world have the same habits.
So if you want to be one of the most viewed YouTubers in the world…
… here are a couple of those secrets, along with some others that I found:
#1. The top most viewed YouTubers work smart, not hard.
I know some YouTubers with multiple channels, who live a miserable existence, forced to make videos all day long.
The problem is, they tried to do too much, with hardly any results to show for it.
If you want to get more views with less effort, the key is to do less stuff…
… but focus on the stuff that makes the most difference.
And then go all in.
What stuff?
#2. Make your channel stand out with your unique strengths.
There are too many YouTubers out there trying to copy what other channels are doing.
And while that can be a good strategy, ultimately you want to stand out in some way.
The best way to do that? Focus on building around your unique strengths.
What are you naturally good at?
Focus your videos around your natural God-given gifts and go all in.
#3. Don’t do what you’re passionate about, do what you’re curious about.
Michael Jordan was passionate about baseball. But that got him nowhere.
On the other hand, he was insanely curious about the game of basketball, and that curiosity led to him to Point #4.
Passion is a short-lived emotion, while curiosity is more deeply rooted.
#4. Be obsessed (in a healthy way), don’t be passionate.
Curiosity often leads to obsession, which leads to mastery of your field.
You don’t want to be like the average YouTuber, who does stuff that makes them passionate.
You want to do stuff that makes you obsessed (in a healthy way).
And in most cases, that’s stuff that you’re insanely curious about and that you’d be interested in mastering.
Because…
#5. Consistency is super important on YouTube and in life.
If you all you take away from this is putting out videos more consistently, you’ll find your numbers of views start exploding.
YouTube rewards you for being consistent. And so does life.
Just do a little experiment. In one experiment, you post videos randomly. In another, you post regularly every day.
See which one causes your Analytics numbers to go up.
#6. Manage your energy properly so you don’t burn out.
This means get out of your chair, stop recording, and hit the gym.
If you don’t take care of your energy levels, you’re going to burn out sooner than later.
And there’s no way to be consistent when that happens.
#7. Be clear on how you feel when making your videos.
The world’s top athletes are so clear on their emotions, they actually memorize how they want to feel at each stage of the game.
Your feelings while making your videos, editing your videos, setting up your videos, etc…
… it all spills through in the final product and how your viewers feel when watching your vids.
Don’t make another video until you feel the way you want to your viewers to feel when watching your vids.
#8. Be clear on how you want people to feel when watching your videos.
Buzzfeed actually has a system called Cultural Cartography that they use to engineer how they want to make viewers feel.
That’s why their stuff goes viral so often.
They understand exactly how they want to make viewers feel, and what they want to do for their viewers.
Before you make another video, sit down for a second, and think about exactly how you want to viewers to feel after watching.
#9. Make at least one improvement to your channels and videos everyday.
The world’s most viewed YouTubers are constantly honing their skills, constantly learning, and constantly getting better.
If you’re not making at least one improvement everyday on your channel and your videos, you’re falling behind.
What’s one thing you can do to improve your channel today?
#10. Have solid YouTube marketing automation in place.
Unless you want to spend serious money hiring a team to do it for you, automating marketing for your YouTube videos is the way to go.
The easiest way to do this?
Use the “YouTube Views Increaser” tactic that I outline for free on TubeTactix.com.
It will not only increase your views, but also your…
… backlinks, social signals, embeds, authority, rankings, and more for all your videos.
