A while back, there was this unknown college kid who managed to do the unthinkable.
He one day came up with the bright idea to build a “Million Dollar Homepage”.
What in the earth is that, you ask?
It was a simple one page website…
… where he decided to place 1 million pixels…
… and sell advertising on each of those pixels for…
… $1 each!
Because of the novelty of the concept, the idea went viral.
It was covered on all the major news outlets.
And people came rushing in to buy up all the pixels. Just to get their brand in the spotlight.
$1 per pixel, over a million pixels means…
BOOM!
He quickly became a millionaire.
And used the monies to pay for his college education.
Even more interesting:
As always happens, people started copying his concept left and right.
They built one “million dollar homepage” after another, after another.
But…
… NONE of them were able to replicate the success of the original campaign.
Even the original creator kid himself could not replicate it.
How come?
The reason for the success of the original lay in novelty. And that novelty is gone once it’s done the first time, unfortunately.
Truth of the matter is…
… if you want to make a million dollars…
… it’s a lot harder to sell a million things for $1 each…
… than it is to sell a thousand things for $1000 each.
It’s the same if you want to get one billion views on YouTube on a single video.
It’s a lot harder to get there by creating a video that gets viewed 1 time each by 1 billion people…
… than it is to create a video that gets viewed 100 times each by 10 million people!
For example:
If you look at all the Billion View videos, 99% of them are music videos.
And you know how people play music videos…
That’s right.
Hundreds of times, over and over again.
In the toilet, in the shower, while doing homework, while just relaxing, while listening to a playlist, etc.
I know I do.
So, if you want to get one billion views on a YouTube video the easy way…
… use what I call the Replay Value Booster (R.V.B.) technique.
Create videos that have high replay value. That people will want to (and need to) play hundreds of times, over and over again, everyday.
Videos like:
Daily checklists…
Music videos and albums…
Daily motivational videos…
Physical and mental workout videos…
And more.
